U08 v3.5 HRG with OPCS 4.3 and 4.4 codes
Version 3.5 HRG of U08 is derived when using certain OPCS 4.3 or 4.4 codes.
The table below lists the codes outside chapter Y that map to chapter Y and therefore derive a U08 if any of these codes are determined to be the dominant procedure for an FCE.
To avoid deriving U08, these codes should not be used in isolation. Use them as secondary procedures only, use them as you would a chapter Y code.
If you want to avoid generating U08 completely, then the easiest method is to strip these 4.3/4.4 codes out of CMDS data.
If you are able to arrange it, a more refined solution is to strip these codes out of those records that do generate a U08.
The left column is the OPCS 4.3/4.4 code, the right is the OPCS 4.2 code that the 4.3/4.4 code maps to under HRG v3.5.
