autoGROUPER is an application that handles the "Grouping" of Episode data to determine Healthcare Resource Groups (HRGs) and related information. It uses the same "engine underneath the bonnet" as the HRG Grouper from the Health and Social Care Information Centre but provides additional tools and facilities to encompass the range of requirements for Payment by Results and for performing Casemix analysis.

Included with autoGROUPER is a Software Development Kit to allow easy integration into other applications, such as HISS, PAS and Casemix systems.

autoGROUPER provides

  • standard costing and summary reports as defined by the Information Centre
  • integral access to National Statistics
  • integral coding validation
  • integral access to both Acute and A&E HRGs and EFGs (Extended Fundholder Groups)

autoGROUPER is a highly portable product and is operating in the NHS under the following operating systems:
