Supporting a Unified Approach to Clinical Coding across Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust

Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust has expanded its use of Woodward's Clinical Coding solutions, supporting a more standardised approach to Clinical Coding across its hospitals.

Following the formation of the Trust in 2021, which brought together Salford Royal Hospital, The Royal Oldham Hospital, Rochdale Infirmary and Fairfield General Hospital, Woodward's has worked closely with Northern Care Alliance to support its evolving Clinical Coding requirements.

The latest phase will see SimpleCode upgraded at The Royal Oldham Hospital, Rochdale Infirmary and Fairfield General Hospital, while Salford Royal Hospital will move to SimpleCode Web. Phase two will then see the remaining three sites migrate to SimpleCode Web in the coming months, creating a shared clinical encoder across all four hospitals and helping to standardise coding, improve collaboration and support consistent, high-quality coded data across the Trust.

Alongside Coding Analyst and Easy Audit, the integrated solution provides Clinical Coding teams with modern tools to streamline workflows, enhance coding quality and support informed decision-making.

Northern Care Alliance serves a population of more than 1 million people across Greater Manchester, employs around 20,000 colleagues and delivers hospital and community healthcare services to hundreds of thousands of patients each year.
